Connect Beta

Link two players through a chain of teammates. Connect is in beta, so the rules may still change - tell us what you think with the Send feedback button on the game page.

How a game works

1. 1
   Get two players

   Each game gives you a starting player and a target player from the same sport. Every game is a new pair, so play as many as you like.

2. 2
   Build the chain

   Name someone who played on the same team, in the same season, as the last player in your chain. The teams they shared are shown on the link between them.

3. 3
   Reach the target

   As soon as you name a teammate of the target player, the chain snaps shut and you've connected them.

Good to know

• Guesses are unlimited. A player who isn't a teammate of the last one, or is already in your chain, is simply rejected - try someone else.
• Your chain can hold up to 10 links. If it fills up, undo a link or give up.
• Undo takes back your last link whenever you've gone down a dead end.
• Stumped? Turn on Show teams to see every team each player in your chain, and the target, played for.
• Give up ends the game and shows one way to connect the two players. You can start a new game any time.

Tips

• Players with long careers on lots of teams are great bridges between eras.
• Work toward the target: look at their teams and aim for someone who played there.
